HOW IT ALL STARTED
When I was 6-years-old, I picked up my mother’s hairbrush and pretended it was a microphone. That was my first interview.
I believe in telling real stories. The human ones. After all, human connection and being able to be accepted as our authentic selves is what we seek in life.
Not everyone has the privilege of turning their passion into a career, but for me, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I spent nearly a decade honing in on my craft through writing, shooting, and editing my own stories when I worked as a reporter and anchor for local TV news stations. I loved storytelling, but I didn’t love the stories I was encouraged to tell.
In 2021, I quit my job in local news and decided to take those skills and bring them to something I had a true love for; fitness.
I got my start in the CrossFit space writing for Morning Chalk Up and running their YouTube channel. From athlete interviews, to hosting a debate show, “The Bottom Line,” to shooting, writing, editing and reporting for live events – I was taking all the skills I developed in TV, and using them for something I was passionate about.
I then took my career to the next level in 2023 by teaming up with Talking Elite Fitness and Hamilton Road Productions. This move allowed me to continue storytelling in CrossFit, alongside other trusted voices in the space. From hosting “Death By,” to co-hosting the podcast, continuing competition coverage, and most recently being hired to call play-by-play at Wodapalooza and for the 24.3 CrossFit Open announcement.
At the close of the 2023 CrossFit Games, I took my passion and skills one step further; event coverage for small to mid-level competitions. Storytelling and media coverage shouldn’t start and end at the highest level, at least I didn’t think so. That’s why I’ve taken everything I learned from journalism school, tv news and CrossFit media, and team up with with fitness events to give them a custom media and storytelling experience. Every competition is different and has a different vision of success. I'm here to help you create what your definition of success is, because the most important stories are the ones where you get to know the human behind it.
